Facts about lice:

  • Head lice are spread by head to head to contact

  • They can’t jump or fly

  • Adult lice are grayish-white or tan and about the size of a sesame seed

  • Nymphs (baby lice) are smaller and can be black, clear or blood red. They sometimes resemble pepper.

  • Lice eggs, called nits, are tiny yellow, tan or brown dots that stick to one side of the hair shaft.

  • Adult lice can only survive for about 12-24 hours without feeding on human blood from the scalp.

  • Nymphs (baby lice) can only survive for about 2 hours without feeding.

How long does lice removal take?

Most appointments are approximately 2 hours based on the type of hair. We utilize a strand by strand method to ensure that all lice are removed. Thicker, longer hair takes longer to get through.
